Paul Myrehaug

Born in Camrose Alberta Paul Myrehaug is an internationally touring comedian with live performances in over 40 different countries around the globe including Iraq, Afghanistan for the Armed Forces.

Growing up on a farm Paul’s childhood was typical of any small town Canadian kid.  He cared very little about anything else but hockey and when his planned NHL career didn’t work Paul quickly found a new dream to replace his athletic career in stand-up comedy.

Paul stepped on stage for the fist time when he was 18 years old in Edmonton Alberta and worked his way through the open-mic ranks until placing 4th in a amateur competition called “The Battle of Alberta” and earning his first touring dates in Western Canada.  From there he moved to Toronto to pursue a larger market and starting touring across Canada and into the United States with a 2nd place finish in the prestigious “Seattle International Comedy Competition”.  Shortly after Paul was crowed the champion of the 2009 “Great Canadian Laugh Off” as seen on The Comedy Network beating out more than 140 other competitors from around the globe to take home the $25,000 dollar prize.

Other television and festivals appearances quickly followed on the heels of the Laugh Off.  CBC’s “Ha!ifax”, his own hour special “Comedy Now” on The Comedy Network and CTV, and his personal favourite, multiple appearances on CBC Radio’s “The Debaters”   Paul found himself basing in Vancouver B.C and performing in comedy clubs, casinos, theatres and festivals around North America.

In 2012 he moved to London England taking his Western Canadian story-telling brand of comedy to the international markets entertaining troops in the middle east, tours of Southeast Asia, China, Hong Kong the Baltic states, India, Australia, Scandinavia and main-land Europe.

Paul now lives in Southern France and spends the majority of his touring schedule abroad but always finds time to do his favourite clubs and festivals back home in Canada including the “Snowed In Comedy Tour”.  A snowboarding / comedy tour which hits over 50 dates January, February and March each year in Western Canada.
